Petcore Europe Thermoforms WG was launched in June 2015, followed by online workshops on Recycling PET Thermoforms in March 2015 and in December 2021. Don't miss our Thermoforms Conference 2023 that will be held on the 14 & 15 June in Italy, Bologna at Hotel Savoia.

Thermoforms WG comprises around 50 companies and organisations including key players from industry and waste management. The objective of this event is to promote thermoforms collection & recycling and specifically tray to tray recycling. We will also showcase Petcore Europe Thermoforms WG’s initiatives: Tray Circularity Evaluation Platform (TCEP) and Functional Barrier (FB) task Force.

On the second day Petcore Europe will organise TWO Plant visits: Recycling Hera Group Plant near Bologna & I.BLU waste & collection sorting plant, dedicated to trays, showing Corepla's efforts to collect & sort thermoforms in Italy (both visits strictly for Petcore Europe members).

Please be advised that a bus will departure with no delays from both hotel: Savoia (at 8:00 AM sharp) & Living Place at 8:05 AM sharp) due to a tight agenda on the 15th June.

8:15 – 10:15 Visit of Recycling Hera Group Plant at the following address: VIA DEL FRULLO 5, GRANAROLO DELL’EMILIA (BOLOGNA)

(We will visit the Hera collection & sorting unit & the Waste to Energy site in Granarolo to get a direct view on the ‘plasmix’ used to feed the incinerator. Introduction by Mitrakos Francesca (from Hera Group) & visit of the plant)

11:15 – 13:30 Visit of I.BLU waste & collection sorting plant at the following address: Via Dante Alighieri, 75, 42023 Cadelbosco di sopra RE, Italy

(I.BLU is the third largest plant in Italy with an overall capacity of 100kt/year, it is specialized in trays sorting. Introduction by Mirko Tutino & visit of the plant)
