After the kick-off meeting in June, the PETCORE EUROPE Working Group on Recycling PET Thermoforms met for a second time on 7 October in order to discuss the progress and results of the different task forces. The group’s chairs reported on the current PET thermoforms market, the recycling and sorting situation as well as packaging technologies, applications and current projects. The Working Group - chaired by Wim Hoenderdaal (Indorama) and Paolo Glerean (Aliplast) - currently comprises 46 key players from the whole PET value chain. Its objective is to develop feasible solutions for the recycling of PET Thermoforms, including design-for-recycling, packaging technologies, collection, sorting and recycling technologies.
The next meeting is scheduled for the first quarter in 2016.
